Compassionate Support in the Comfort of Home
We understand how important it is for families to feel comfortable and supported, especially when caring for a loved one with a disability. That’s why we offer in-home respite services, designed to give carers a well-deserved break while ensuring the person they care for continues to feel safe, supported, and at ease in their own home. Whether you need a few hours of support to assist for overnight stays or longer-term assistance, we’re here to step in with compassionate, reliable care tailored to your family’s needs.
Personalised Care That Supports Your Whole Family
At Tribe, our support workers do more than just step in, they create meaningful, positive experiences through personal care, social connection, and skill-building. We tailor in-home respite to your goals and needs, working with you to make the process easy and stress-free. Taking a break is important, and we're here to support both you and your loved one with care you can count on. For more information, contact our team or check out our FAQs below.
-
Respite care under the NDIS is generally funded through Short Term Accommodation (STA) and falls under the Core Supports category, specifically within "Assistance with Daily Life." For more information, please contact us, your LAC, or your Support Coordinator.
-
If you’d like STA respite included in your plan, you’ll need to request it during your planning or plan review meeting. In this meeting, be open about how much support you need and how your carer or support network helps you each day. It’s important to explain how this affects both of you and how respite care would make a difference. Bringing supporting documents, like reports from your Occupational Therapist or Psychologist, or a letter from your carer about the need for a break, can really help strengthen your case. The more the NDIS understands your situation, the better they can see why respite care is necessary for you and your support system.
